MAN SHOOTS GIRLFRIEND THINKING SHE IS A PIG

Yes, you heard it right.  I have talked a lot about hunting accidents and how to avoid being the victim of a hunting accident.  I have discussed going to a gun class, hunting class and learning hunter safety from any expert.  In California there are a number of hunter safety classes that anyone can take, including children.  Whether you are a hunter or a lawyer it is best to take a class and learn safety from other veteran hunters and gun users.

In Alabama (but I am sure there are similar areas in California) Mark Kent of the Press-Register notes that a man was killed in 2012 in a wooded area outside of Citronelle by a 7 mm hunting rifle.  It seems that a person in the hunting party accidentally shot the individual thinking he was a deer.

However, the most interesting of all hunting accidents occurred in Florida (again this is not a California hunting accident).  I wonder if this one needs a hunting injury lawyer, or a lawyer that handles hunting accidents.  A 52 year old man and his 52 year old girlfriend went wild pig hunting up near county road 305 in West Flagler County.  While in his tent the boyfriend heard a noise and stepped outside to see what was going on.  He saw what he thought was a pig outside the couples tent.  Acting quickly to kill the prize pig he shot toward what he thought was the pig.  After taking the shot the boyfriend started to search through the wooded area looking for the pig.  He then heard some noise in the bushes near where he shot and noticed a person laying on the ground.  Yes, sure enough he had shot his 52 year old girlfriend in the upper legs with a 30 caliber rifle.  This hunting accident could have surely been avoided if he was a little more careful.  This story has been all over the news but I found it on Historic City News.  I wonder if a YouTube video will be made of this story?

Remember hunting can be enjoyable and safe if you only follow important hunter safety rules.  Whether you live in Chico, Loomis, Roseville, Rocklin, Marysville, Sacramento, Susanville or anywhere in California, it is important to remember the hunter safety rules. Penney and Associates attorneys handle all types of serious injury cases including hunting accident cases throughout California.  Just remember never shoot the girlfriend thinking she is a pig, I doubt that she will keep you as a boyfriend for very long.
